THE FRODOS' RING DISEASE

Spain's social foundations are literally falling apart and many of my countrymen still don't seem to care about  it. I wonder what are they waiting for or what do they need to experience in order to understand that the only person that can stop this colective bleeding is him/herself.

Corruption is the currency in Spain today : the royal family, politicians, bankers, businessmen...it's an endless parade. Last huge disappointment  has been Jordi Pujol, former President of Catalonia for 24 years (Quin mal! :(

But what strikes me the most about all these corruption cases is that we are never talking about little money, we are always talking about huge amounts of money, millions of euros, money that they won't be able to spend in 20 lives...So my question is: what do they want the money for??  What kind of strange pleasure do they obtain by accumulating tons and tons and tons of "dead money"? and how come are they so sure about their legal immunity? what makes them believe that we'll never catch them?!
 

I find it extremely illogical, specially when we are talking about supposedly intelligent people and, in some cases, people who were really honest and had strong ideals in their origins. So I arrived to the conviction that money & power have an intrinsic and irresistible self-destructive force, like Frodo's ring in The Lord of the Rings. A supernatural invisible force capable of corrupting any soul in earth. We've seen it so many times that I would found very pretentious from anyone to believe that he/she is immune to it.

In Spain, we are experiencing how the Frodos' ring disease drives sick people to psychopathy ("patients" become incapable of feeling the pain of their country fellows) and to a kind of  God's complex (they firmly believe they are superior (more intelligent) than the rest of Spaniards). It's interesting for the intellectual mind to try to analyze the degeneration of a soul infected by  this particular disease but the question is: do we have time for psicoanalysis in Spain right now?

I mean, we have perfectly identificated the infected population (that happens to be the financial and political elite of the country) and we have local, regional & national elections across the corner. Do we really have time to keep analyzing over and over the actual situation? Shouldn't be quickly organizing ourselves, politically & socially speaking, to directly take over the political power as a first step to re-organize as a society?  I know it's very difficult to mobilize when we've been taught to be passive and lazy. I know it's scary to think about ending up our lives as any Gollum, but the choice are the sick ones, and those are hopeless. The sick ones will continue to lead us towards destruction because they are as stupid as cancer cells incapable of realizing that they'll die with us.   

We, the people, are majority and as the wealth distribution quickly keeps increasing the inequality gap in Spain, more amb more Spaniards will feel part of the people force. We'll take control of the Frodos' ring as soon as we seriously decide we want to do it, that's out of the question (it's already happening). But the real question is:  how will we manage not to get infected once we get the Frodos' ring? Not even the cleanest soul can resist the power of the ring for too long before it gets corrupted, we know it by now.

We need to think seriously about it and get some pre-commitments or all the people's suffering to get rid of the actual political & financial elite will have been in vain.  We, as a society,  definitely need a different approachment to power and money not to get infected by this pathetic disease. So far the ring has proved to be never-failing against individuals, but what about against a collective?  I believe we should deepen in these thoughts to try to find a definitive cure to the Frodo's Ring disease.

Meanwhile we'll have to conform ourselves with preventing the infection, though. And I believe that means making a collective sacred commitment not to let anyone, not matter how clean its soul may be today, hold the ring for too long. As apparently seen, more than 4 years starts to become really dangerous...more than 8 years deadly...
